Flameworked glass has been
a passion for Jay Bridgland for the past fourteen
years. Jay’s current body of work includes
modern jewelrydesign and conceptual sculpture.
Jay owns Bridgland Studios, based in Oakland California
where he currently works. Jay teaches classes and
youth programs at The Crucible,a non-profit industrial
arts school specializing in the fire arts. For Jay,
involvement with The Crucible provides a unique
opportunity to explore the blending of glass with
other media of the fire arts, including metals,
neon, plasma, and bronze. Jay continues to explore
glass sculptural work by making annual treks to
the islands of Venice, Italy to study and work with
Italian master Cesare Toffolo.
