JEWELRY

Throughout our history humans have adorned themselves with jewelry. They have used jewelry as currency, symbol of wealth or a reflection of spiritual beliefs and artistic expression. The Crucible’s jewelry program teaches basic skills and techniques in a variety of methods of creating jewelry, whether it be traditional metalsmithing and fabrication, casting metal using the lost wax method, setting gemstones or shaping modern resin and clay. Introductory classes teach properties of metals and how to use appropriate tools to create original pieces of jewelry or small sculpture, while advanced classes are available to expand your knowledge into specific techniques, learn to make your own tools or even design your own home studio.
