Introduction to Sewing: A Crash Course Entry-level class For beginners, this four-hour workshop is the perfect way to become better acquainted with your sewing machine. You’ll learn sewing machine operation, troubleshooting, parts, various sewing tools and their uses, as well as foolproof methods for sewing a straight seam and turning corners. The class will also cover types of fabric and their uses. You must bring your own sewing machine to class.

Cartoneria (Mexican Paper Sculpture) Entry-level class In this class you’ll learn cartoneria, the ancient and popular art form of Mexican papier-mâché. Cartoneria combines Aztec styles with Spanish techniques and is deeply rooted in ancient Mexican legends, traditions, and craftsmanship. In this course, you will create fantastic and colorful sculptures from paper and recycled materials, using mythological beasts and characters as a starting point.

Stereo Photography Entry-level class An introduction to the world of 3D, this class teaches how stereo photography can be used to create 3 dimensional images. You will learn how to build a stereo camera and how to view the photos. While this is not a technical photography class, there will be suggestions on how to compose and frame subjects to make interesting 3D pictures.

T-Shirt Reconstruction Entry-level class Have tons of old t-shirts lying around? Come learn how to re-size, cut and convert your old clothes and transform them into new and exciting garments. This 3-session workshop will teach you how to work with knit fabrics using a regular sewing machine, how to install ribbed cuffs, and help you create some gorgeous new things to wear. You will also have the opportunity to try out a serger. Please bring 3-5 t-shirts or knit items you would want to cut apart and re-purpose.
