Demonstrations
The Crucible is truly unique with all the industrial art disciplines we have under one roof. During our Open House we will have demonstrations in every room with instructors and students on hand to answer any questions you may have. We will also have some of our incredible youth artists demonstrating their skills! Check out a map of our studio!

Art Show
Every fall we like to show off what we do here with a spectacular art show. We will have pieces from Crucible staff, students, faculty and volunteers showcasing all the fabulous industrial arts classes we teach here. During the open house we will ask visitors to vote on their favorite top three pieces and awards those artists with free tuition on a Crucible class of their choice.

Handmade Art for Sale
This year we will have Crucible artists on hand selling their beautiful handmade art. Currently we have Tara Murray Art Glass, Nightside Studios, Rusty Noodle and many more.

Discounts on Crucible Classes
New students who sign up for a Fall class during the Open House, will receive 20% off class tuition. All members who sign up, will receive 25% off. Not a member and want to snag up the 25% off? Become a member that day, get 25% off a class registration and start reaping those member rewards!

Win FREE tuition for a Crucible class
During our Open House we will have two different ways you can win free tuition for a Crucible class. One is to enter our drawing when you first arrive for a chance at the free class or a family 4 pass to Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

The second way is to join our Resolve to Create campaign. We are asking folks of all ages to make a creative resolution for 2011. We will have a camera set-up to take your picture with your resolution. You will then be entered into our Resolved to Create drawing that happens every month during 2011. Learn more about our Resolve to Create campaign and check out others resolutions…

We are just two blocks from West Oakland BART station!
