Faculty – Mari Chovan-Upton

Mari Chovan-Upton is a sculptor who has been working with glass and ceramic for over 20 years. She was born in Budapest, Hungary, where she studied drawing and sculpting and taught privately. In 1982 Mari came to the U.S. to attend CCAC. She graduated with an interdisciplinary fine art degree with the emphasis on glass and sculpture. She exhibits her work in the Bay Area. Mari has been teaching glass casting as an artist in residence and an assistant to Mary White at San Jose State University from 2003.
