Fire Arts Festival 2008

Installation Artist Application

Deadline: May 1st, 2008 at 5pm


 

Please complete and return this application with any pertinent photos and video (via email to FAF@thecrucible.org) by end of day May 1st to be considered for financial assistance and included in any press materials. If your performance or act incorporates fire of any kind, you must also fill out the FIRE SAFETY PLAN.

8. What is the cost of transportation to and from The Crucible associated with operating your piece at the Fire Arts Festival?

Questions 9a, 9b, and 9c are pertinent to artists using propane and other fuels as part of their performance. If these questions don’t apply to you, please skip down to question 10.

9a. The Crucible will be providing propane-filling services before each night’s presentation. Please indicate the number and sizes (5g, 8g, 10g, 24g, 100g, etc…) of DOT propane tanks you will need on hand each night to support your installation. (Please note that we cannot fill non-DOT tanks, out of date tanks or tanks without an OPD valve).


9b. If you need loaner propane tanks, please indicate how many of each (5g, 8g, 10g, or 24gal). The Crucible will try to accommodate all reasonable requests, but cannot guarantee that you will receive all the tanks you request. Supplying your own tanks is the best way of ensuring that you will have all you need.)

9c. If you are using fuels/gases other than propane, please list the type of fuel/gas, quantity per day in cu/ft or gallons, and the estimated costs of these additional fuels?
(Please note: The Crucible will not be equipped to fill tanks for any other gas other than propane).

10. We are very interested in knowing more about any history and experience you might have had as an active contributor to any collaborative project. Please list any collaborations/collaborators that you have been, or are currently involved with.
 
11. Please give us an idea of what your typical range of compensation would be for a show of this caliber. Do you ever work on a sliding scale?
(i.e. Benefit show vs. a high dollar corporate gig).
