Enter into Inferno: A Fire Circus, the hottest show on Earth with main stage performances by Lucent Dossier Experience. Explore a world of flames with an amazing cast of enticing characters and creatures where seductive sirens, fallen angels, fire breathing acrobats and irresistible creatures from the underworld beckon you to join their luminous conflagration and return with them to the fiery depths.

Follow these characters in limbo as they choose between light and dark, heaven and hell. With aerial apparatuses set aflame, fiery sword balancing, men rising from the ash with their skirts ablaze, prisoners hoisted into the air, and dancing skulls singing haunting tales, one can’t help but to be pulled in…

As the night continues there will be music and dancing to DJ Mancub from the Space Cowboys. Also step right up and try your hand at one of our fiery circus games like Flaming Skee Ball, Pyro Putt, or the High Strike. And don’t miss our mesmerizing sideshows of glass blowing, sword making and fire dancing or the hypnotic sounds of our Crucible made flaming Ballyhoo Calliope. Learn more about our sideshows…

Event Amenities: There will be no in’s and out’s during the event, so please come prepared. There will be a coat check and several full service cash bars. There will not be food available. A smoking area will be provided. Directions & Parking…

Fire & Light Soirée and Art Auction

Thursday, July 14, 2011 • 6PM

Please join us for The Crucible’s 6th annual Soirée and Art Auction. Fine dining, fine wine, fabulous atmosphere, a phenomenal art auction… and an exclusive preview of The Crucible’s Inferno: A Fire Circus.

Guests will savor a delicious three-course dinner with wine pairings, and bid on beautiful works of art in metal, glass, wood and more. This year, Soirée guests will also enjoy an exclusive preview of Inferno: A Fire Circus designed and created for The Crucible by Lucent Dossier.

Partake in a fantastic party, take home a new piece of art, see a spellbinding performance, and support The Crucible. Tickets are partially tax-deductible.

Fiery Sideshows

Skee Ball
Try you hand at our Crucible built Skee Ball table. Get a ball in and be rewarded with a burst of fire!Pyro Putt
Flaming miniature golf, complete with a flaming windmill. Need we say more?

Hi-Hit
Step right up and test your strength at our high strike. Swing the hammer, burn the bell and win a prize!

Glass Blowing
Admire beautifully blown glass as our talented instructors twirl it around in a molten state.

Glass Flameworking
Watch as hot glass is blown into adorable balloon animals.

Sword Making
Step into our smithy and see hot metal glow with out the use of fire in our Inductrotron! Watch as our smiths forge freakishly strong swords fit to be swallowed.

Side Stage
Don’t miss the memorizing fire on our side stage as performers hoop, spin and dance with fire.

Ballyhoo Calliope / Pyrophone
A flame-breathing hybrid of the carnival organ designed and built as a collaborative project by several departments here at The Crucible.

Directions…Parking
The Crucible has a very small parking lot on the corner of 7th & Union that will be available for disabled placard parking only. Those spaces are available on a first come first serve basis and go quickly. There are also two paid parking lots that will be staffed. One is on Kirkham Avenue and is exact cash only. The other is the 5th Street lot by BART. Please do not park in lots owned by local businesses or the residential area behind The Crucible; your car may be towed.

Public Transit
Ditch the car and don’t worry about parking – The Crucible is easily accessible by BART!
From the West Oakland BART Station, exit onto 7th Street, turn right and walk 2 blocks east to Union (at the 2nd light). The Crucible is on the northwest corner of 7th & Union, at 1260 7th Street. To plan your BART trip, visit www.bart.gov.

Lodging
Preferred Rates at the Executive Inn & Suites

This event contains mature content and situations that may not be suitable for young children. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Guests are discouraged from bringing toddlers and infants. Every guest regardless of age must purchase a ticket. Guests may be subject to loud noises, bursts of flame, amplified music or strobe-like effects.Smoking
A designated smoking area will be available outside. There is no smoking inside The Crucible.

Photography and Videography
Amateur photographers and videographers are welcome at this event. Pocket-sized video cameras (like flip cameras) are allowed; anything larger will need special permission and 48 hours noticed. Tripods for amateur photographers and videographers are not allowed. No flash photography is allowed for anyone. Please be respectful of fire and safety lines.

If you are a commercial photographer or videographer, or a member of the press, please stop by the media check-in table at the event entrance. If you require special needs or need to use a tripod, please contact us 48 hours in advance. No flash photography is allowed for anyone.

Guests and artists, please be aware that The Crucible is a public space. By attending or displaying your work, you are consenting to being photographed.
