Besides offering classes, The Crucible is also a hub where artists, makers, hobbyists, and professionals of all experience levels practice their craft, share ideas, and run businesses. There are several ways of accessing the studios and equipment that can fit your schedule and budget.
Take a Tour
Find out what we have to offer in a free, guided tour of our 56,000 square foot facility. Tours are given twice a month: the 1st Tuesday at 6pm, and the 3rd Saturday at 3pm, except during holidays and special events.
We know that setting up personal workshop spaces can be expensive and space prohibitive. With artists in mind, we started the CREATE (The CRucible’s Expanded Access to Tools & Equipment) Program to allow current and past students to use our studio space, tools, and equipment to work on personal projects. Use the studio calendars to check when your area of interest is open.
Studio Access Labs
Studio Access Labs provide an opportunity to hone the skills you’ve learned in class, without having to spend a fortune setting up your own shop. Finish that elusive project or start a new one in a specified area at The Crucible. Studio Access Lab time is monitored but not instructional.
Rent the Space
Make your next private event unforgettable in the unique industrial setting of The Crucible! Our main event area features 7,000 square feet of space with 25-foot ceilings and a capacity of up to 500 people. We have a basic 12′ x 24′ stage, which can be modified to suit your specific needs. In addition to the main event area, several smaller rooms are available. You can add fire effects, performers, or a hands-on art activity to your event.
Artist Studio Rental
The Crucible leases studio space to artists and makers who benefit from broad access to our tools, resources, and being part of our collaborative creative community. Studio renters are welcome to host clients and open studio events in their private rental studio space.
