2014 Playa Bound: Free Summer Open House
We’ll feature several works in progress for deployment in Black Rock City later this summer, including the 27 foot/400 screen fractal projection machine Between Dimensions, roving cocktail bar K9 Mark IV-BM, and the multi-media Visual Orchestra.
We’ll also be joined be fire spinners and dancers for a fire jam performance between 1:30 and 3:00. Crucible artists and faculty will feature wares from the jewelry, ceramics, glass, and welding departments. Our bike department will have some great playa bikes on hand and of course, fiery demonstrations in our industrial studios.
Playa Bound will also feature discounts of 20% on tuition for select classes and summer youth camps.
“Between Dimensions” is a way for the citizens of Burning Man to create and interact with fractals. To play and experiment is inherently in our nature, and this piece is a platform that allows for the creative exploration of a concept that has given so much to us. To gain a better understanding of such a concept is invaluable, for from the scientific to the esoteric, fractals are a part of our world.
