ARTIST STUDIOS

The Crucible has private and shared (work-only) studios available at low-cost rent for artists and artisans who are interested in being part of a collaborative, creative environment.
Join the vibrant community of artist and artisans of the Crucible. Tap into many opportunities, including classes, volunteering and access to tools and equipment.
Benefits include:
- 16' x 16' studio spaces (approximate)
- 16' of industrial pallet racking
- 120v electrical service
- 24-hour access to a private studio, bathrooms, and a studio
sink in a secure building
- Doors between the main Crucible studio and the rental studios will be unlocked during the following times:
Mon-Thurs: 2 pm - 10 pm
Sat and Sun: 10 am - 6 pm
Fridays: Closed
Outside these hours, these doors will be locked.
- Keys to The Crucible's private gate on 7th Street and to the rental studio entrance.
- West Oakland location, 1 block from West Oakland BART.
- During studio hours the Tool Room will be available to renters and you will be able to check out certain tools from the monitor.
- Access to all Crucible lab sessions, every quarter, FREE of charge - as long any specific qualification levels are met. In order to qualify, you must attend a training meeting to become authorized in the studio area. These meetings must be arranged with a studio manager during regular studio hours. Pre-registration for labs will be necessary as there are limited spaces available.
- All tenants will receive a complimentary Pyro level membership to The Crucible. This entitles you to early registration for all classes, 10% off of 2 classes per year, a Crucible t-shirt, and invitations to members' only events.
Tenants are encouraged to volunteer and get to know studio management.
Shared spaces are available at $325/month, or private spaces at $600/month.

2. After reviewing your application, you will be contacted if a studio space is available, and if your application is accepted.
3. If you are selected and agree to the terms and conditions of the lease, you'll take occupancy and join the dynamic, collaborative group of artists in the studio!
