Youth Workshops & Group Classes
We have a wide variety of age-appropriate workshops for youth, ages 8-18. In our youth workshops, each student creates an individual project to take home—welded sculptures, glass tiles, robots, and more! These active, hands-on workshops will have students energized, excited, and encouraging each other creatively.
Workshops are a 3-hour minimum. Multi-day workshops can be set up for all departments listed below. Adults are always welcome to join in, just pick the workshop age-appropriate for the youngest member of your group.
Options For Ages 8-11
Clay Sculpture
Learn exciting hand-building techniques in working with clay! Projects can include cups, bowls, trivets, masks, or figures.

Chibi Miniature Figurines
Learn the basics of preparing, shaping, sculpting, cane making and baking polymer clay. Using their own brightly colored clay, students will make small sculptures known as Chibis and incorporate them into wearable objects and accessories that they can take home and wear with pride!

Marbled Paper Star-Folded Book
Students are introduced to Marbling Paper, a beautiful and colorful printing technique that never makes the same design twice. They then take that paper and create a unique presentation in the form of a star-folded book.

Woodcarving
This class introduces basic hand tools and their functions through hands-on demonstrations. Students are given expert guidance through every step of the carving process, from brainstorming to adding fine detail to creating a unique 3-D project of their own design.

Aluminum Cast Tile
Carve a design of your choice into a compressed sand mold, and then watch as molten aluminum is poured into it, creating a positive design in metal that’s unique to you.

Learn to anneal, add texture, and form your very own one-of-a-kind copper cuff.

Enameled Keepsake
Fuse complex multi-layered designs of transparent and opaque glass powders onto an keepsake which can be used as a large pendant, magnet or bookmark.

Forged Metal Hook
Heat metal to a glowing red and then pound it into exciting shapes on an anvil, often depicted in movies with the making of swords and the shoeing of horses. In this workshop, students will hand forge a medieval looking clothing hook in three hours.

Glass Flameworked Miniatures
Each team member will learn to heat borosilicate glass with a torch, then shape molten glass into small finished projects, including pendants, marbles, small sculptures, and more.

Learn to cut and shape sheet glass, then fuse the pieces together into a colorful mosaic tile of your design.

Jewelry Keepsake
Make a fashion statement! Using copper, silver, and other nonferrous metals, you will learn jewelry and metal art skills to create trendy jewelry of your own design.

Learn and utilize techniques in leather working, including cutting, edging, dyeing, and rivet setting to craft a belt of your own design and pattern.

Learn to cut, stamp, and stain leather while making a travel bag tag or leather key ring.

Metal Stacking Rings
Learn basic soldering and metalworking techniques to make a set of stackable rings from sterling silver, copper, brass, and gold fill. You will leave with several stylish rings for yourself or to give as gifts.

Learn to construct metal flowers out of steel using Gas Metal Arc Welding (G.M.A.W./MIG) and Plasma Arc Cutting (P.A.C.)

Options For Ages 14-18
Hot Glass Sculpted Flowers
Participants learn the basics of hot glass sculpting (gathering, marvering, glass shaping). In a 3 hour workshop, participants will make a beautiful glass flower.
