Pet owners have different ways of showing their love for their pets. Whether you leash train your cat so it can accompany you everywhere, or only get to see your dog when you get home from work, the love between a pet and its owner is unconditional.
While we are working in the studios, we think about what inspires us to create. It has been a common theme to make objects inspired by and for our pets at The Crucible. Whether it is a collar made in Leather Working I or a ceramic water bowl made in Ceramics I, the possibilities of what you can make your pets in class are endless. And as a community of makers, it is a given that those of us who are animals lovers would make their pets’ swag rather than buy it in a store.
This Friday marks the 20th annual Take Your Dog to Work Day, and this entire week is Take Your Pet to Work Week! This holiday was created by Pet Sitters International as a way to encourage pet adoption and to celebrate the joy pets bring to the lives of their owners.
