Studying abroad in Italy proved a pivotal point in Katy Joksch’s education and career path: as her classmates were falling in love with Florence’s culture and food, she was falling in love with metals in a college jewelry course. Since graduating from Arizona State University in 2005 with a B.F.A. in metalworking, Katy has not only worked as a production jeweler and manager for several high-profile local artists, but has also developed her own line of jewelry, which has been exhibited and sold on local and national levels.
Katy has been teaching courses in metals and enameling at the Crucible since 2009. Sharing her passion for these two art forms with students of all ages continues to be an unbelievably rewarding and educational endeavor.
